Gorgeous! Fuchsias are some of my favorite flowers, and your poem captures their fragile, whimsical beauty so well. Your photos are lovely too, as well as the song you pair them with.
Thank you for your reassuring and validating words, Deborah. I am not a poet, but sometimes words come when you are looking at something as beautiful as a fuchsia. I'm glad you enjoyed the song, too. It's a gentle anomaly in that band's catalog. Several years ago, I did some art for them and toured with them across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. I plan to write about that experience eventually.
Thank you! It's quite a different post from me, but it's where my creative thoughts have been this week. It feels a bit vulnerable to post a poem of mine, but the heart said to do it!
I also couldn't work out how to keep my spacing (Substack kept removing my spacing even with Poetry Block, which was very annoying). I also wanted to change the font and its color, so I ended up doing it in Photoshop and then saving as a few PNGs. Problem solved! 😊
Lyrics for a psychedelic track right there!
Thank you!
